Company mission

To nurture healthy minds for a happy life, by supporting children's mental health through playful learning that's scientifically sound and accessible to everyone.

Our take

With around $500 million being spent globally on mental health applications – a figure which is forecast to keep on growing – Aumio is zeroing in on the wellbeing of children with its story and play-based app. By taking a child-friendly approach to meditation, mindfulness, and yoga exercises, the app is designed to help children sleep better, as well as aid in concentration issues.

The app is the brainchild of clinical psychologist Jean Ochel, who piloted a beta version while studying digital health and ADHD during a Master’s Degree. Given that conditions such as ADHD and anxiety diagnoses in children have climbed at an alarming rate over the last two decades, it’s easy to see why Aumio’s is proving popular.

Though only founded in 2020, the startup has secured plenty of funding, partners with a number of leading health insurance providers in Germany, and has adapted its content for use in schools. Having established itself so early in its lifecycle, Aumio is now eyeing up an international expansion across both Europe and the US.
