To make it easy for consumers to securely share their insurance data to companies they trust in seconds.
Insurance may be a trillion-dollar industry, but many parts of it still feel stuck in another era. Carriers and businesses often rely on faxes, phone calls and outdated systems to check whether policies are valid or meet certain requirements. With no shared system for insurance data, even simple checks can become surprisingly time-consuming and repetitive.
So, Axle is tackling this problem by building what it describes as an AI-native clearinghouse for insurance. Its technology connects to the many systems insurers use, pulls information from messy documents and turns it into a standardised format. Giving businesses a single API to automate tasks such as verifying coverage, checking requirements and keeping policies up to date - effectively turning insurance into something much more programmable.
Axle has tripled the number of workflows it automates in the first half of 2026 alone and now clears more than $100B in coverage each year for over 4,000 customers, including Rocket Mortgage, Avis and Experian. With a fresh $17.5M too, the company plans to expand its engineering and go-to-market teams and cover more than 50 insurance segments. If Axle can make insurance work a little more like modern banking infrastructure, there's plenty of room for the company to grow.
