Bear Flag Robotics' mission is to use technology to help farmers improve efficiency and productivity.
Increased demand, labor shortages, high costs and tight deadlines have put farmers under enormous pressure. Bear Flag Robotics is setting out to help solve this problem with its autonomous farming machinery.
Through their autonomous tractors, farmers are able to execute all the work they need, regardless of how successful they are at sourcing labour. The company are not focused on replacing farmworkers entirely, but instead free them from mundane, time-sensitive tasks. Bear Flag Robotics have successfully deployed autonomous tractors solutions at multiple farms within the US, and are now looking to scale their operations.
Bear Flag Robotics main challenge was securing funding and competing with other automation and robotics companies. However, the company was bought by agriculture giant John Deere in 2021 for $250 million, and with this backing is likely to see impressive wins in the next decade.
