Bequest

Bequest is aiming to change the way people handle their day-to-day life admin like insurance and wills. We're taking on this challenge from a new perspective in the industry and this always leads to some very interesting discussions and new products that challenge the way we think about insurance. The work is not easy, but that's what makes it so rewarding when we get it right for our customers.

As a company it feels like Bequest are really trying to tackle the big problems in the industry today and make it as easy and painless for customers and their families as possible. The team cares about more than just selling insurance and we're building products and working with partners to actually add value to customer's lives and help them when they need us most. Bequest is also a B-Corp certified company who believes in helping people and protecting the planet.

Everyone is great to work with and when really good work is done, people share shout-outs to their teammates and show they appreciation. This comes from everyone in the business and each quarter we celebrate as a team, win awards and go on company socials. We have weekly company demo's where we celebrate the progression in the team and what we've achieved.

Peers and leadership alike acknowledge and celebrate good work and drive. We also have a system to share shout-outs. Beyond a pat on the back, the company doesn't shy from promoting people who do good work!

There are no divas in the team. Everyone is ready to jump in and help to drive the business forward. There are no politics that hold back action and undermine the collaborative nature of the company.

There's an open line of communication between leadership and the rest of the team. I feel like I have a good idea of what's going on and why we prioritise certain projects over others. I've never felt a sense of secrecy from the leadership team.

There are plenty of opportunities on both the technical and the business side of the company to share your ideas and opinion. There is a regular company wide survey called happiness tracker as well to see exactly where the improvement opportunities are.

This team is full of dedicated hard working individuals who are eager to learn new thing. This creates a great atmosphere where everyone trusts each other.

Bequest is very flexible location wise and you will always be able to discuss with your manager if you need to get things done outside of work, we had a team member who was finishing up his exams while working with Bequest and that was completely fine.
