Our take
Bitstamp was established in 2011 and is the longest continuously running Bitcoin platform, serving over 4 million customers globally.
Since 2017, Bitstamp was acquired by global investment firm NXC, integrated with Paypal and rehabilitated the assets of fellow legacy bitcoin trader Mt. Gox, that went bankrupt in 2014. All of this exemplifies how Bitstamp, as one of the most mature bitcoin trading platforms out there, has become a staple of the industry.
Bitstamp is also spearheading the move to address accessibility and trust issues in crypto for those outside of the community. In 2022, Bitstamp set up the Learn Center, a resource centre for those who want to learn about crypto and fintech but haven’t any coding or software development experience. As a legacy player in the field, moves like this will enable Bitstamp to gain more publicity, customers and respect than it already has.
