Our take

Reading is a huge part of being successful. In fact, numerous studies have found it to be one of top predictors of life success, with superstars like Elon Musk, Barack Obama and Richard Branson all stating that it is a key part of their lives. But with work, studying, or just normal everyday business, it can be difficult to sneak in even a few pages into our already hectic schedules.

This is where Blinkist comes in. In a nutshell, their app takes the ideas contained in nonfiction books and summarises them, creating bite-sized, memorable and easy-to-understand insights. Allowing users to get the benefits of books in a way that fits into a busy lifestyle, Blinkist has massively disrupted traditional learning.

Following major funding and an acquisition by Australian education platform Go1, Blinkist is focused on expansion across the board, from adding content in new languages to exploring new delivery formats beyond text and audio. With over 13 million users across over 200 territories, Blinkist has a strong existing user base and its acquisition by Go1 will greatly increase its global presence.

  • At Blinkist, we strongly believe that diversity powers innovation, thus we celebrate and support our differences, providing equal opportunities for employment.
  • We are aware that the system is tweaked against counter-stereotypical individuals and groups. As an employer, we want to lead by example and make a lasting impact on the society. We acknowledge that to achieve equality we need to take affirmative actions and tackle discrimination that has been going on for generations.
  • We are committed to enriching and diversifying our hiring funnels and removing systemic biases from every aspect of the organisational behaviour.
  • We run engagement and diversity surveys to measure the sense of belonging and track progress of our DEI initiatives.
  • We offer a minority coaching budget to our employees from minority groups. In this way, we hope to support individuals coming from under-represented communities in overcoming obstacles that might be blocking them from further growth and career development.
