Our take

Falls are the leading cause of injury and injury death among older adults, and research shows that even simple, low-intensity exercise can improve balance and strength enough to reduce the incidence of falls. Bold is a digital health and wellness service aimed at senior citizens to prevent falls and help ease chronic health problems through tailored and free exercise programs. The idea for Bold came about after one of its founders began caring for her grandmother.

Utilizing personalized and science-based exercise programs, the company helps its members get stronger and healthier. At a time in which the cost of healthcare, particularly for older adults, continues to soar, Bold serves to reduce cost and increase quality and value for older adults, health plans, and providers alike.

Today, over 10 million individuals have access to Bold through their health plans. Bold is a venture-backed company, including investors at Andreessen Horowitz, Khosla Ventures, Primetime Partners, and GingerBread Capital.
