Our take
Bolt6 is a UK-based software development team that aims to improve the sporting experience for audiences and players through tech innovations. From fan engagement to commercial performance, Bolt6 uses camera technology and data analysis to assist in improving everything from VAR-type technologies to the quality of video footage.
The company's offerings include the optical tracking software "Sentinel", which boasts a number of achievements. It is the only sports officiating technology to never fail an official test, the fastest approved system for international tennis and volleyball, and the only approved cloud-based technology.
Interestingly, many of Bolt6’s heads were employees of Hawk-Eye Innovations, a visual data company specialising in optical tracking, vision processing, video review, and more. Bolt6 has clearly utilised the insights from its leadership team’s previous employer, and continues to secure impressive partnerships such as with the PGA Tour, NASCAR and Fox Sports.
