Our take

Booknook is a social enterprise on a mission to close the ever-widening gap in child literacy using technology. Providing students with wider access to tutoring and literacy support, Booknook has been proactive in gaining partnerships with schools and companies across dozens of states since it launched in 2015 - it has been teaming up over the last few years with leading education charities and non-profits such as MobileServe.

Booknook’s approach to pricing is also a notable feature of its platform - it charges for its software and tutoring on an equity system, charging less to schools with a high number of students on the free lunch scheme. This helps the company stand out as a viable learning model in a saturated market that has seen many competitors appear since remote schooling became more prevalent post-pandemic. That being said, transparency is key, and Booknook must maintain clarity with institutions and organisations about the eligibility for discounts.
