To make sustainability easy for busy parents.
Babies can grow out of clothes in a matter of weeks. This makes them tough to clothe on a budget - and even tougher to clothe in a sustainable fashion. Historically, second-hand baby clothes have been circulated between friends, family, and communities. Borro is one of the various startups that has noticed this practice, and wants to formalise it.
Borro is a new entrant to the baby clothing rental market, and offers a fairly standard spread of clothing items and rental prices all covered by ‘stain insurance’. Borro's focus on simple, durable, and sustainable items puts it right alongside rival competitors like LullaLoop, Bundlee, and Babybundle. Borro distinguishes itself, however, by offering individual rental items, as opposed to multi-piece bundles.
This may appeal to parents who just need a few supplemental items instead of an entire new baby wardrobe. Certainly, it helps Borro carve out a microniche within this increasingly competitive field. With UK consumer preferences taking a turn towards the circular economy, this may prove profitable enough for Borro to take off.
