Brightmile's mission is to help employees get home safely to their loved ones at the end of each day by enabling companies across the globe make work-related driving safer, cheaper, and greener.
Brightmile was founded to make work-related driving safer – something that it sees as an oversight in the health and safety field. Drivers for a number of major companies including DHL, Pepsico, Carlsberg, Heineken use the aBrightmile app to monitor their behaviour and gain rewards for safe driving.
The gamified, reward-based nature of Brightmile’s app is really interesting, setting it apart from its more punitive counterparts. That the platform also measures and advises on fuel efficiency and CO2 is more than an added bonus given the pressure that large enterprises are now under to reduce their carbon footprint.
The company points out that around the world, about 20 million people are injured or disabled by work-related driving collisions annually, shining a light on the scale of the problem it's trying to solve. Indeed, Brightmile is intending to expand from the UK into a number of emerging international markets where road safety statistics are even more alarming.
