Everyone at Bud is very friendly - it is said a lot but honestly working at Bud is a pleasure. Really great people and culture.

Bud's perspective on technology is "never set in stone". Bud is an adaptable company and is willing to invest in their employees and upskill them in the newest technology. The decision to move to a GO stack was not easy, the biggest blocker being they had a PHP team. That didn't stop them though, they ran workshops during office hours to help give us the opportunity to learn and improve ourselves. Bud also provides a generous personal development package which I used to purchase more GO resources, as well as other tech related books/courses.

In all businesses, some conversations happen behind close doors. The choice to share the findings of that conversation are sometimes shared and other times kept close to chest. At Bud, there are no secrets. Good news or bad news, communication is shared business wide in order for us all to be aware of whats going on. Communication isn't a one way street, Bud promotes open conversations with all of their employees to challenge or support decisions. This approach gives everyone the chance to have a voice and removes the idea of a one way communication stream.

As mentioned in my previous piece, everyone has the opportunity to voice their concerns or support for decisions. This is especially true in the engineering department, developers of all levels can chip in and propose solutions which could have business wide impact. Bud hired you, they trust you to make the right decision and as such value your opinion on problems/improvements.

My colleagues are always pushing the boundaries of what we can do. I know I can always rely on the people around me to be nice, offer great advice and most importantly create products that are meaningful to our clients.

Working at a start up is always challenging as you're given a lot of responsibility and in turn accountability which makes it a fun challenge. Everyone in the company gets involved in all aspects of work.

We're a remote first organisation which has had a real positive on peoples lives, especially mine. We all still have the option to go into the office to see our friends and colleagues which is on booking system to ensure its safe and secure. I personally prefer starting earlier so I can finish earlier which I agreed with my lead so that it doesn't impact my duties nor meetings.
