Our take
Robo-Investment apps have become more and more popular in recent years, especially with younger people. The apps are accessible, investments starting at £5, and their ease of use makes them less intimidating than traditional investment services.
However, unlike a Nutmeg or WealthSimple, CIRCA5000 (formally Tickr) focuses on impact investing, those which generate social and environmental solutions alongside a financial return. Impact investing is still gaining ground, particularly amongst millennials who are seen to be much more likely to buy into social and environmentally responsible investments. Circa5000 will do well to tap into this market to secure their future growth.
The company has already raised several funding rounds, including from the popular crowdfunding platform - Seedr - which will be used to grow their team and customer base as well as roll out new products such as pensions to CIRCA5000.
