On a mission to provide the opportunity to build teams, bypass barriers and access expertise & finance to create impactful startups that address the climate emergency.
81% employee growth in 12 months
With the world poised on the brink of a climate emergency, there is an enormous demand for innovation in the climate and sustainability space. However, founding an environmental startup requires considerable knowledge, expertise and funding. Carbon13 is a venture accelerator that leverages Cambridge-based business knowledge to solve this problem.
Carbon13 is currently working with a range of co-founders to create 200 ventures, all of which are geared towards cutting global carbon emissions by 1%. They work across a range of sectors, including agriculture and renewable energy. Several of these ventures have already obtained considerable funding, which is testament to the quality of Carbon13's support. The company is headed up by an impressive team of Cambridge business academics, whose experience and networks have allowed Carbon13 to prosper.
Carbon13 isn't the only climate startup accelerator, and it will need to continue to draw the best talent in order to compete successfully with companies such as Katapult Climate. However, recent funding and launch successes indicate that Carbon13 has the staying power to achieve that.
