Our take
Finding great care workers can be a lot of work, with word of mouth often being the best way to find the right people. However, until now, there's been no easy way to scale this up, and traditional referral schemes are hard to manage. Ultimately, these systems don't give staff much reason to get involved.
Care Friends is fixing that with its clever app that turns care staff into recruiters. It makes referring friends as easy as a few taps on a phone (and gives instant rewards for every step, not just the final hire).
Over 700 care providers across the UK are already using it, with some seeing nearly half their new hires come through the app. It's smart and simple, and has even won awards, including the prestigious King's Award for Innovation in 2023. With the demand for care surging, Care Friends will only keep growing.
