Our take

CareRev enables hospitals and other care facilities to access a pool of healthcare staff. Users can post shifts which are broadcasted to CareRev’s own pool of professionals. Staff can choose to take on shifts that suit their needs via an app on their phone, eliminating the need for a traditional agency.

Unlike other healthcare labor marketplace platforms, CareRev offers the technology for clients to create their own hybrid marketplaces. In practice, this allows internal employees to see and claim shifts first, before they’re broadcasted externally, supporting existing workers to access shifts when they need them.

As with any marketplace business, the ongoing challenge for CareRev will be balancing fluctuating healthcare demand with high-quality staff. Its had success so far though, bolstering its appeal through launches such as its AI-powered "Smart Rates". In 2026, the company was acquired by fellow healthcare staffing platform IntelyCare, together forming one of the most comprehensive offerings in the market.
