Our take

Casablanca is a contemporary luxury fashion brand. The founder conceived of Casablanca as an homage to his dual French and Moroccan heritage and the brand's breezy collections neatly straddle the void between streetwear and tailoring.

To create its unique aesthetic, Casablanca has two full-time painters on staff, producing aspirational imagery like a cruise liner sailing underneath a rainbow, or a speedboat chopping through turquoise waves. All its prints are created in-house, and the fabrics are manufactured in Lyon and Como, two cities historically specialised in silk production.

While Casablanca is not positioned as a sustainable brand, the products are developed in an environmentally responsible manner, by limiting the use of water, ink and other resources, and favouring natural materials like organic cotton, and buttons made of coconut shells instead of plastic. The brands vision is for Casablanca in the next 20 to 30 years to be one of those big houses that we all know, like Hermès, Chanel or Saint Laurent.
