Despite being one of the largest consumer demographics in the beauty industry, Latinx individuals are often underrepresented on store shelves. Recognizing this gap in the market, founder Babba Rivera launched Ceremonia, a haircare brand that celebrates her Latinx heritage and the traditional hair rituals of her culture, enabling individuals to embrace their natural beauty and culture.
With a small but mighty team, Ceremonia has achieved significant growth since its launch. The brand's success has been recognized by Sephora, which has expanded Ceremonia's presence to more than 500 of its stores nationwide. This a significant milestone for Ceremonia, as it is the first Latina-owned haircare brand to be featured in Sephora.
Given its success, Ceremonia has secured the financial backing of multiple investors, which will enable the brand to continue its expansion. With plans to open a flagship store in NYC's SoHo neighborhood by the end of 2023, Ceremonia is poised to become a leading force in the beauty industry and beyond.
