To help the world’s media organizations understand, measure, and build business value from the attention earned by their written and video content.
Chartbeat is a content intelligence platform for publishers, that helps its customers understand what content people are engaging with. It does this through real-time and historical editorial analytics across desktop, social, and mobile platforms.
Founded back in 2009, it was these real time analytics that set Chartbeat apart in the space (at this time, Google Analytics made you wait 24 hours to see results). In 2022, the company was acquired by enterprise software investment firm Cuadrilla Capital, that has also purchased other data firms like Agilence and InfoDes.
Post-acquisition, it seems that Chartbeat is operating much as before. CEO John Saroff continues to lead the company, and there is much enthusiasm about the growth opportunities this deal has opened up. Chartbeat made its own pair of acquisitions - of social video analytics company Tubular Labs, and digital revenue management company Lineup Systems - in 2023, which sees it expand its capabilities to serve media companies beyond their editorial needs.
