Our take

CharterUP supplies a tech-driven charter bus service, that allows users to "charter a bus in under 60 seconds". Covering over 500 bus companies across 25 US locations, the company is able to serve a wide range of clients from schools, to businesses, to individuals looking for private bus hire.

With CharterUP's marketplace, it is possible to receive price quotes from different vendors alongside ratings and reviews, all from a single short questionnaire. Self described as "Expedia-meets-Uber", the company brings much-needed modernization to the logistics of transporting large groups, and certainly provides a service that is in demand, with over 1000 companies using CharterUP for bus charters, including the likes of Microsoft, Amazon, and Google.

With significant funding raised by the company, its focus now is to invest in go-to-market strategies, further expand its footprint in both new and existing markets, and grow its product and engineering teams. Operating in the $15 Billion US charter bus industry, CharterUP has certainly targeted a lucrative opportunity, and it will be interesting to see how it develops into the future.
