Company mission

Break down barriers for diverse talent by democratising access to premium quality language education.

Our take

The refugee crisis is only becoming increasingly critical, with research showing that there will be 1 billion displaced people by 2050. Now, effective social integration is more essential than ever. This is where Chatterbox comes in. Its work platform enables refugees and other marginalised people to demonstrate their full potential, connecting their talent with demand from top companies.

Its first product is an AI-powered online language learning platform that employs marginalised people in need of work to teach their native languages. Thousands of learners have been connected with refugees on the platform since 2018. This has not only helped build bridges between refugees and their host communities but also helped coaches expand their professional networks.

Chatterbox has worked with BNP Paribas, the British Red Cross, and Georgetown University in Qatar and has also participated in Microsoft's 'Startups for good' cohort. As a social innovation capable of radically and permanently tipping the scales towards a more just global economy, Chatterbox has attracted backing from leading investors in Europe and the US. 2022 funding is being invested into its ‘diversity as a service’.
