Chilly's was founded in 2010 with the intention of providing a stylish alternative to single-use plastic bottles. The founders set about designing a bottle that utilised leading thermal flask technology in order to keep water colder for longer.
Chilly's uses the same vacuum chamber wall technology as a flask, which puts it in competition with household names like Thermos. Its design has also been replicated by supermarkets and household stores such as Wilko. However, Chilly's differentiates itself from more adventure and outdoors-oriented companies like YETI by marketing itself towards "urban adventurers". Colourful and stylish designs have helped Chilly's to define itself as much as an eye-catching accessory as a practical solution.
The company has successfully built a large social media following, which has cemented its place in the market. Since its inception, Chilly's has expanded its product range considerably, is listed as a top 10 Sunday Times Fast Track listed company, and is often ranked as one of the UK's leading sustainable companies.
