One of City Hive’s key selling points is the efficiency of its platform, which has won them custom from upwards of 2,000 nationwide alcohol retailers. Moreover, the company was quick to take advantage of the pandemic's upheaval of the industry. Consumer expectations changed substantially over this period, and retailers have been obliged to adapt not only to new consumer tastes but also to new models of business. Add the need for digital transformation to the pile, and the appeal of City Hive’s quick, all-inclusive, platform with no up-front payment is easy to see.
City Hive is a well-established player with a robust stake in the alcohol delivery space, which will serve them well as it begins to consolidate. With giant competitors like Uber taking a substantial amount of control away from alcohol retailers, City Hive’s offering is likely to remain a lucratively attractive alternative.
