Our take

Clarifai is an enterprise AI platform designed to support the AI development lifecycle, from data preparation to model training to deployment. The company started out delivering API tools that could algorithmically recognize images on websites, which has allowed it to become an expert in unstructured data such as images, videos, text and audio.

Since launch, the company has become a market leader in AI, and its offering has developed into a full-stack AI platform that helps users to create, manage and deploy AI workloads on any compute. One partnership of note is a cooperative research and development agreement with the US Army which saw Clarifai work on a large-scale electro-optical/infrared data labelling effort.

In 2026, Clarifai became a part of Nebius, an AI cloud company. Its core engineering and research team joined Nebius, continuing their mission but now backed by Nebius' infrastructure. This is an exciting development for the company, and one which allows it to pursue further cutting-edge research in the AI space.
