Our take
ClearGlass is a digital platform sitting between pension funds and asset managers. It aims to bring much-needed transparency to the pensions industry with a platform that provides pension funds with the tools and data they need to ensure they're getting value for money from their asset managers.
Launched in January 2019, in less than 2 years they had onboarded over 400 asset managers, more than 300 pension funds, and £700 billion in assets. Soon after, ClearGlass was named Financial Technology Innovation of the Year and Tech Nation Rising Star.
ClearGlass also participates in research on investments and cost transparency and reports on companies’ performance according to the standardised templates prescribed by the Financial Conduct Authority. Its findings have brought to light several firms’ misgivings.
