The product protection market is worth $50 billion, but many of the biggest e-commerce companies don’t share warranty revenue with the seller. This is something Clyde is trying to address, noting that product protection purchases usually have a higher profit margin than the product itself.
Clyde has developed a plug-and-play product protection platform that connects e-commerce retailers' products with extended warranty providers, as well as offering transparency on customer information and claim processes.
By the company's own admission, its offering is similar to big startups Affirm and Stripe, but it's holding its own, with the Clyde plugin available on Shopify, BigCommerce, Salesforce, Magento and Woocommerce.
