Commit's mission is to put the needs of startup engineers first by fostering community with life-long support, personalized development, and seamless career transitions.
Commit’s professional network for engineers operates at the intersection between a job matching platform, professional development center, and an open source project employer.
Launched in 2019, the platform exists to help engineers find the right jobs at startups. However, a few things set it apart from a traditional job and networking platform. The major difference is that it actually pays its members to work on collaborative open-source projects, while attempting to match them with highly vetted startups such as Patch, Certn, and Dapper.
Engineers are then able to complete 3 month trials with partnered startups while they search for the right match. It’s a fascinating and potentially lucrative business model, and it’s gaining plenty of attention from media and investors alike.
The key battle for Commit as the company looks to scale will be maintaining the high standards of both engineers and vetted companies, while ensuring that the networking aspect remains close-knit and familial.
