Company mission

To enable brands and retailers to expand beyond their core business into new categories and products without taking on any inventory risk.

Our take

Cortina allows ecommerce brands to advertise and sell products from other brands which complement their own offerings, without having to spend on adding them to their inventory.

By connecting ecommerce brands as well as physical retailers in this way, online brands are able to increase revenue while maintaining their own brand and user experience. In addition, more brick-and-mortar oriented retailers are able to tap into the rapidly growing online space without having to reinvent their business model.

The online shopping space is at a very interesting crossroads. Though there has been a huge shift in its favor, privacy restrictions have also made it more difficult for brands to advertise their goods to large audiences on platforms like Facebook and Instagram.

Therefore, a solution like Cortina’s which allows them to list and sell through other brands’ websites has great potential. Having only been founded in 2021, it’s early days for the company, but the vast retail experience of co-founders Brooke Cundiff and Keith George (who launched and sold CoEdition), as well as the VC backing of AlleyCorp, offers lots of encouragement.
