Our take
In sports analysis, predictions and strategies get more successful the greater the depth of data they are based on. CricViz combines the world’s most extensive cricket database, unique predictive models, and professional expertise to deliver an informed and respected analysis of the sport.
Initially launched as a mobile application aimed at fans, CricViz drew the attention of broadcasters who then bought access to the database. They now provide analytics services for broadcast and media, as well as to national boards and professional teams. A unique element of CricViz’s database is an ability to see how well batters perform against the different types of bowlers, giving insight into how specific batter-to-bowler pair-ups might affect the outcome of a match.
CricViz works with professional teams including the Australian national side, and broadcasters including Sky Sports and Fox Sports. The company has also paired with BBC Sport to highlight players to watch, and it can be expected that top names in the sports industry will continue to make use of their cricket expertise.
