Our take
Managing a farm is tough. The yield depends on every changing factor; soil moisture, temperature, yield health and dozens of other weather factors such as wind and precipitation. CropSafe developed a platform for monitoring these variables through satellite imagery.
The startup’s technology aggregates a few dozen differen satellite data and weather sources and synthesises those sources into digestible farmer-friendly information. As a result, CropSafe can play a role in saving some of the $220 billion lost in the global economy every year to crop contamination and disease.
The startup’s ambitious goal is digitally enabling every single farmer on the planet - 520 million farms. For now, it is focused on US, UK and Europe with Middle East the next region lined up for expansion. Early reports from farmers are positive, a good sign for the growth of the business.
