Our take
For a long time, Wall Street had a monopoly on real estate investments. CrowdStreet leverages equity crowdfunding in order to give accredited investors access to institution-level real estate opportunities outside of public equities.
CrowdStreet's appeal lies in its combination of in-house commercial real estate expertise and proprietary technology. So far, this combination has yielded impressive results, with users investing more than $3 billion in over 600 projects.
As equity crowdfunding begins to become more prevalent in real estate investment, CrowdFund will have to work hard to stay ahead of competitors like CircleUp and Fundable. Establishing trust and transparency with its users, while also scaling its investor base, will be an important part of their future success.
