Our take

There is a lot of vaporware and broken promises in the AI startup landscape. Daisy Intelligence is going back to basics with reinforcement learning focused wholly at boosting a company’s bottom line.

Daisy Intelligence increases revenues and lowers costs for grocers, retailers and insurance companies. By focusing tightly on narrow use-cases where complex processes can be automated beyond human capability through proprietary but well-understood AI techniques, the company has won a rapidly growing client base.

Trends in recent years have likely permanently shifted the landscape of one of Daisy’s main customer groups - grocers - to online purchasing and more dynamic pricing. These changes perhaps reinforce the need for AI. Proving that their algorithms can help major retailers adjust to the new digital-first environment will be crucial to the startup’s future success
