Our mission is to democratize data skills for everyone.
76% employee growth in 12 months
While competitors (like CodeAcademy and Khan Academy) feature extensive courses on Python and web development, DataCamp delivers career-specific routes tailored to the modern job market. In a world hungry for technology talent, their "R for Finance" and "Quantitative Analyst" courses enable job-applicants to differentiate themselves.
DataCamp generates much of its revenue working with businesses, with clients from Deloitte to PayPal. Industries around the world are desperate to up-skill their talent with the latest analytics tools: this product is quickly becoming key to the on-boarding and training regimes of many firms. The company has also worked to develop its fraud and regulatory risk analytics courses. Financial services firms are keen to automate their compliance systems as AML becomes increasingly a process of data mining.
Recent developments include mobile training courses, mirroring Duolingo-style on-the-go learning apps that have proved revenue-generating on a subscription model -- targeting the busy-professional demographic with limited time in the day to up-skill. These bite-size lessons might be the key to its growth.

Rather than being micro-managed, my manager gives me a lot of freedom to reach my goals. Ownership is given to every person on the team.

My colleagues at DataCamp are all super smart, with a lot of generalist T-shaped profiles: engineers will also give feedback on product decisions, product managers will crunch numbers themselves to get insights. That way, we can get a lot done in a short time with less people it'd typically take.

The base/average skill level of the Software Engineers in the company is high, which keeps everyone performing at their best. Until I joined DC I had never worked with such a large and competent group of engineers!

Honest feedback is sought after and encouraged, be it under the scheduled reviews, or as an everyday process. I feel much more confident and comfortable in my day-to-day, knowing that there isn't some feedback that I should've received but never did.

DataCamp has always had a flexible work environment, but it has become even more flexible since the start of the COVID-19 quarantines, having forced noone to return to the office ever since, for example. The company is always willing to accommodate personal time without it being an issue as well, which is great for someone like me with children of school ages.

At DataCamp I can bring my ideas to the table on how we can improve processes and try new things or new ways. People listen and value those ideas and I often get a go to work on my idea and implement it.
