To democratize music discovery and empower fans, curators and artists to connect through songs.
Much as the advent of music streaming changed how music is valued, it also fundamentally altered how users discover new songs. Discz Music was founded in response these “passive and boring” algorithmic offerings for music discovery, such as Spotify Radio, with the goal of democratizing the space and changing the way people interact with music.
Discz Music began its life as a college project, finding overnight success in 2021 after several TikTokers praised the app. Interestingly, according to the company’s CEO, the app had gained users in 200 countries before they ever ran an ad. The app works by recommending songs based on past listening preferences, playing short snippets of each and employing a “swipe right, swipe left” system for users to either add songs to their playlist or reject them.
Sinch launch, Discz Music has repeatedly ranked in the top 10 of the App Store music charts, and boasts hundreds of thousands of users. The company is YCombinator-Backed and looking to expand business operations in the future.
