Early Metrics provides ratings of start-ups to potential investors. Rating agencies have become mired in controversy since the 2008 financial crisis, where the vested interest of companies to be rated improbably highly was best shown. What's more, even ratings given in good faith were only ever 'snapshots' of a business performing well at a certain point of time, and didn't necessarily provide investors with the whole story.
Early Metrics has disrupted this space by analysing the qualitative and quantitative metrics innovative startups and SMEs on behalf of investors. The start-up sector still sees an approximate 90% failure rate, so the market for assessments is high. Early Metrics uses a tech-based methodology, that tracks company performance over time, as well as individuals within that company.
Early Metrics presents a blend of technology and analyst-focused methodologies in order to provide investors with a more accurate picture of how a start-up is performing. The company's clients include the likes of L’Oreal, LVMH, Barclays and Siemens Mobility.
