To digitize the world using AI.
Ecopia uses AI to create HD vector maps using high-resolution imagery of the Earth. It’s an impressive capability that has, for example, seen the company map in great digital detail the entirety of the US and the buildings within it. The applications for this kind of up-to-date information are endless, and, for Ecopia’s customers, have already ranged from insurance and regulatory compliance to coastal management with the NOAA.
Ecopia claims to have hundreds of governmental and commercial customers using its maps in over 100 different countries, growing at a steady and profitable enough pace to sustain it through its bootstrapped period. It’s not hard to see why: these digital maps create rich, detailed data that satellite imagery, however sharp, simply can’t provide.
The company is receiving a steady stream of high-profile contracts, including most recently one to help map broadband coverage for the entirety of Canada. Demand for Ecopia's digital mapping services, in a world where digital transformation is more prevalent than ever, looks set only to grow - now, perhaps, at a faster pace.
