Our take
Despite the economic wealth of the U.S. as a whole, many outer-city communities remain overlooked and thus have a lack of essential infrastructure. Ultimately, this results in long commuting times and other economic challenges for workers within these communities, reducing the overall mental health and quality of life for workers.
Edge Collaborative provides overlooked communities with the essential access to advice and capital support for economic growth, starting with Stockton, California. By partnering with organizations and identifying hard-to-define challenges, the company then seeds and supports these initiatives through hands-on support, talent, policy, and coalition-building.
Many American startups have the goal of improving transport, road systems, and other suffering infrastructures within overlooked parts of the country, but Edge Collaborative has taken a step further by helping these problems be identified in the first place. The company has been working with public, private, and community-based organizations within Stockton since 2017, ultimately supporting high-quality opportunities within the local economy.
