Our take
In the ever-globalizing world, companies are keen to make the move to the cloud. However, the security threats of public cloud environments may leave them reluctant to transfer sensitive applications. Edgeless Systems uses confidential computing technology to restrict access to cloud data sets, allowing companies to make the most of cloud environments.
Though solutions have arisen to fight cloud security concerns, it has been difficult to scale them to enterprise levels or to protect data in use. Founded in 2020, Edgeless Systems launched its flagship Constellation in 2022 which allows enterprise-scale use of the public cloud as if it is private. Data is isolated from the cloud provider, allowing the transfer of sensitive or vital data sets, and protecting data whether at rest or in use.
The company's latest funding will be used to further its position as a leading provider, optimising its product and fueling continued development. Edgeless Security is also set on international expansion, as it sets its sights on the US.
