Electives' mission is to change who we get to learn from at work and what we get to learn at work.

Our take

The invention of employee e-learning massively increased the rate at which staff training can be conducted whilst reducing costs, but it can be difficult to make virtual learning engaging. This is due to learning platforms often following a one size fits all approach to training, with repetitive multiple-choice structures that can prevent meaningful learning.

Electives provide a live interactive training platform for employees, allowing employers to offer interactive lectures, group exercises, collaboration tools, and asynchronous educational content to employees. Unlike mandatory training courses, the platform allows employers to tailor the training experiences of individuals for targeted upskill opportunities, in addition to providing employers with a dashboard of engagement and progress analytics.

Whilst upskilling platforms have existed for consumers for years, Electives has been smart to apply this format to employee training, recognizing that every team and team member is unique and thus virtual training needs to be personalized. The company shows great potential to disrupt the employee training market by empowering businesses to upskill their staff, improve company culture, and ultimately boost employee productivity.
