With an abundance of potential space for solar power projects in the form of commercial and industrial business rooftops, complex management and ownership structures embedded within the property management and landlord markets have created distinct and unnecessary barriers to more green energy. Electron Green believes that the untapped space amounts to millions of square metres across the UK.
Electron Green’s solution involves financial plans for tenants and landlords to engage with and benefit from solar projects, EV and storage solutions, solar asset management and development consulting services. Its most recent project involves incentivising the adoption of solar energy by free installation of solar panels onto business rooftops and charging as little as 20p per unit, developing a fixed rate and guaranteed below Grid prices. Electron Green aims to do all of this without building owners even having to change their utility supplier, lowering the cost of their energy bills in the process.
It's certainly an attractive proposition and both SMEs and renewable companies can benefit. Electron Green's leadership team’s experience within the field ( CEO Daniel Green worked in the energy department of the Home Office) provides even more encouraging indicators, showing that it could succeed in its mission of saving SMEs money whilst simultaneously incentivising renewable adoption.
