Our take

Elementl is building Dagster, an open-source, cloud-native data orchestration platform for the development, production, and observation of data assets. One of the biggest challenges for companies is managing data pipelines, and while there are a range of tools available, Elementl recognized the need for a more modern system that was optimized for the cloud, DevOps, and containers.

The company (and Dagster) has centered its focus on data assets, which enables its clients to assemble a ledger of every data asset within the organization and every state transition it has gone through, along with all associated metadata.

The company closed its Georgian-led Series B funding in May 2023, which is set to accelerate the development and adoption of Dagster. By further establishing Dagster as both an open-source solution and as a commercial Cloud offering, Elementl is well set to see growth as it enters this new growth phase.
