To get more money in the hands of women+.
-21% employee growth in 12 months
Founder Sallie Krawcheck noted that regular investment algorithms don’t account for factors like maternity leave, women’s salaries reaching a peak earlier than men’s, or how women live longer on average. Ellevest was created to offer a curated and specialised investment platform made for women, by women.
The company’s main offering, its investment platform, has an average account holding of just below $10,000 and is owned by women in their 30s. Aside from investment access, Ellevest also offer savings accounts, debit cards and financial coaching services to help women become more money-minded. Ellevest’s women’s focused investment platform is unique in how it goes beyond branding itself towards female users by actually tailoring its own algorithm towards them.
The company have definitely found its niche as it hit a huge milestone in 2021 by surpassing the $1 billion mark. The next big step will be to turn Ellevest profitable and keep growing the capital under management. The company has invested in providing personalized coaching and increasing product solutions; this looks to facilitate profitability by attracting more users to the platform.
