In 2013, the co-founders felt the frustration associated with the limited learning technologies on the market. To directly tackle this problem, Elucidat set out to enable its customers to build transformational learning experiences at scale. Its SaaS platform helps to create more ethical and successful businesses by providing people-centered training.
Elucidat has been successful in empowering big employers to drive down the cost of business-critical training, making e-learning cheap as well as quick and simple to produce. Elucidat's extensive guidance and support have had a meaningful impact in helping users excel when using its platform
Elucidat's approach has led to the company working with clients including the BBC, BMJ, National Trust, Tesco, TUI, BMA, and many more.

Ian Budden
(CTO)After studying at Goldsmiths, they went onto become a Web Developer for 1 year, and then 12 years as Managing Director at Mind Unit. They co-founded Elucidat in January 2013, and have served as the CTO since.
Simon Greany
(CPO)They worked as a designer for Mind Unit, Epic, LINE Communications and the Open University before over 10 years at Make Sense Design. Having co-founded Elucidat with Ian and Steve, they have served as the CPO.
Steve Penfold
(CEO)Before co-founding Elucidat, they have been an Operations Director at IRIS PROJECTminder and also COO at Ceros.com. They have also been a Board Advisor to Trackpal, Ribot and High Growth Ventures.
They worked as a self-employed developer before joining Elucidat as a Full Stack Developer in May 2015. They were promoted to Lead Engineer in May 2018, and have been the Head of Engineering since June 2020.

Our company values are "learn, care, share" and those are obvious across everything in the business. All staff are entitled to a day a month of dedicated learning time to help them to continue to grow and develop and there is budget and support offered to help this. We also have a hugely collaborative team spirit and lots of groups within the business focused on learning new skills and sharing knowledge.

All staff receive regular positive feedback through our "High 5" system which is visible to the entire company, and we also have a Learner, Carer, Sharer of the Month (our equivalent of Employee of the Month) to celebrate people going above and beyond. Weekly 1-to-1s with line managers also provide regular opportunities to talk through the great work people are doing.
