Company mission

To create a world where inclusivity is the standard, not the exception.

Our take

Estendio is a high-growth education technology company on a mission to make learning more accessible to all. The company's solutions support students with learning differences and its driven to make a real impact.

In 2014, Founder Chris Hughes was a student with dyslexia at the University of Strathclyde and realised that the results of his business degree would rely largely on his ability to present to his peers. After consulting with the university's disability service and dyslexia experts, Chris realised there was no direct or accessible solutions for presentation anxiety. With Chris determined to ensure that his public speaking fears didn't lead to his exclusion, he founded Estendio and began developing its first app, Present Pal.

Since launching the Present Pal app in 2018, Estendio now supports tens of thousands of people in the UK and North America. Its experienced quick expansion and its only getting started.

Company values

  • Accessibility: Inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do and we’re all about addressing pain points through simple solutions. We recognise that everyone is unique and has a different experience with learning differences and disabilities. We want to create a level, equal playing field for everyone to get the best out of themselves and each other, and we are constantly innovating and looking for ways to do this
  • Adaptability: Adaptable meets ability in our small and committed team! This means embracing a growth mindset as we break new ground and learn from our mistakes. It’s also about being comfortable with the uncomfortable as we grow and innovate and lean into skills and work which may not be in our current wheelhouse
  • Attitude: We’re each responsible for our own actions, performance and career. We always want to be good neighbours to each other, and put ‘us’ before ‘me’ to achieve our common goal. We embrace our differences and use them to grow by staying open-minded, curious and humble. Ultimately we are collaborative at heart, accountable and ready for the journey here at Estendio!
  • Ambition: We want a world where inclusivity is the standard, not the exception and everything we do is geared towards this goal. At the same time, we’re here to become the best versions of ourselves - we are always learning and growing together to push ourselves to achieve our vision of inclusivity
