Our take
Since carbon reduction and offsetting measures have become commonplace, the environmental and social impact of large companies has come under scrutiny. However, large enterprises have the resources to minimise their impact whilst SMEs don’t. Indeed, SMEs in the UK produce around 160 million tonnes of greenhouse gases a year yet often lack the manpower or funds to remedy this.
EtOso has built sustainability reporting software for small businesses, reducing the cost and labour required from small companies that may already be struggling financially. With its AI assistant helping with both advising on reports and the task of reporting itself, the aim is to reduce the burden on SMEs when improving their environmental and social impact.
With more than 6000 reports available for analysis on its database, etOso certainly has the resources at its disposal to make an impact on UK SMEs. It wants to be the go-to for an SME’s first impact report. Here’s to hoping the platform catches on as etOso continues to establish itself in the market.
