To be the operational database of the future.
Event-based sourcing unlocks the power of data for business. Unlike traditional data storage which serves the needs of applications drawing on it, and not much else, event-based sourcing works by appending a list of transactions that take place with a company's data. Incredibly valuable as an audit log, it also allows for complex historical data analysis and lets developers construct complex and highly scalable products for complex use cases.
Event Store is a company at the forefront of this technology. Founded in 2011 as an open-source project to help build event-based databases, it has grown into a a major player in the sector, helping to build infrastructure for organisations such as Walmart, the NHS and CERN. It has expanded into other areas, including consulting for firms hoping to adapt the technology and cloud-based solution for deploying its product.
In addition to its growing customer base Event Store has raised funding in a Series A round. It has continued to develop its product and deploy new systems to further the technology. It is hiring additional talent specifically in engineering to achieve this, and to further its goal of becoming the primary operational database of the future.
