Our take

FLOWN is a startup that develops digital and physical spaces for deep work. The company offers a marketplace of spaces suitable for individuals or teams to get away from their day-to-day to concentrate, contemplate or collaborate. In addition to physical spaces (think: Airbnb for Work), FLOWN also aims to cater to individuals working at home with a dedicated app and a collection of online services.

Founder Alicia Navarro initially focused on group retreats, but pivoted towards remote working in response to the impact of the recent past. She leads a strong team and is backed by top-tier Angel investors, including Greg Marsh (OneFineStay), Taavet Hinrikus (Transferwise) and Tom Allason (Shutl).

The co-working space is highly competitive and many companies have similarly pivoted to offer new services in response to global events in recent years. However, unlike many competitors, FLOWN's hybrid digital and physical model reduces its exposure to global shutdowns.
