Company mission

To build the future of Philanthropy, re-interpreting giving as a digital consumer experience.

Our take

The arrival of cashless transactions has split the possibilities of what spending means wide open. A purchase now can add to your savings, with spare change aggregation apps, or add to your portfolio with automatic micro-investing services. Fana is looking to execute a similar conceptual overhaul, but this time by combining eCommerce and philanthropy.

Through the Fana app, 10% of the value of any purchase made at participating stores will be transferred across into the user’s digital Fana wallet. The user can then distribute this to a participating charity or initiative of their choosing. In return, the user will receive a digital collectible, which for now will remain in-App and users can put towards upgrading their avatar.

There’s a lot of moving parts here, but Fana is playing to a number of rising trends. The most popular (and successful) donation methods by far are digital. Gameification has proven to be an effective charity engagement tool. And, perhaps most importantly, eCommerce isn’t going anywhere any time soon - it’s a smart market trend to base their idea on.
