To feed the future and close the circles.
The global agriculture sector is one of the largest contributors to CO2 emissions, with a good portion of these emissions arising from the way we feed farm animals. Trying to fight the climate crisis and mindfully supply animal feed is FarmInsect, an insect larvae-based farm feed solution.
The company has developed an automated solution for insect breeding that can be installed at farms, to feed animals such as chickens and pigs. The feed product, made of larvae, has quickly become a sustainable alternative for soy and fishmeal, with demand growing so quickly that FarmInsect has scaled to be the largest regional insect production network in Europe.
By supporting farms in setting up an in-house eco-system for protein-rich animal feed, the company has the chance to massively contribute to reducing agricultural carbon emissions. Recent funding will allow FarmInsect to continue to scale and bring its unique offering to more farms across the continent.
