Our take
Increased awareness of the negative damage fossil fuels have on our planet has led to government legislation in several countries to ban carbon and diesel cars in the next decade, and this presents an opportunity for electric vehicles powered by renewable energy. However, Europe currently lacks the crucial infrastructure to facilitate the transition to electric cars, particularly charging stations.
Fastned partners with landowners, businesses, project developers, and civil engineers to build superfast electric car chargers powered by 100% renewable energy across European locations. The company currently runs over 130 charging stations across six European countries and recharges electric vehicles for up to 300km in only 15 minutes.
Whilst it is inevitable that Fastned will face significant competition from dominating services such as ChargePoint, the company shows significant potential for scaling due to its location partnership program. Furthermore, Fastned partnered with leading electric vehicle company Tesla in 2021, further promise that Fastned to stand up in the renewable charging industry.
